Efficiency in the Workplace

How to be Efficient in the Workplace

I grew up being a HUGE basketball fan.  While I've never been a fan of the Lakers or the Heat, I've always admired Pat Riley as one of the best coaches of all-time.  His secret? Efficiency.  He has been quoted as saying "a particular shot or way of moving the ball can be a player's personal signature, but efficiency of performance is what wins the game for the team."

This is a statement about basketball, of course, but it can apply to the workplace as well.  As anyone who watches basketball knows, there are many players who think that the best way to win is to just shoot and shoot until the ball finally goes through the net.  As everyone who watches basketball also knows, teams that rely on players like that usually don't do very well.

I'll break down what I believe are the three most important things to remember when you're trying to get more out of your workday.

Hard Economic Times Creates Shift in BSC's Target Market

Building service contractors appear to be shifting their target market.  This surprising fact became apparent after listening to a podcast by Dan Weltin with Contracting Profits. During these hard economic times, companies in general must modify their target audience to stay on their feet – BSC’s are no different.  He explained that during this time of economic hardship BSC’s are moving from the traditional office buildings to educational and medical facilities.  This major jump is created by the scarcity of available jobs and loss of profits in the commercial office cleaning niche.

Big Win for CleanTelligent Customer Service

I just got done interviewing [CleanTelligent Customer] for a letter of recommendation for
CleanTelligent.  When I asked him about the benefits of CleanTelligent he
shared an experience he had recently where he had scheduled to call Dahlin
while in a meeting with the Vice Presidents of that division.  When he
called the VP’s picked Dahlin’s brain and he answered every question that they
threw out at him.  [They] said that he went above and beyond “normal
customer support” and surpassed any experience that he had previously with any
other company.  Thanks to Dahlin, we have a client who loves
CleanTelligent and all that we do.  Thank you!  A huge victory for
CleanTelligent and the Customer Service Department.

CleanTelligent Community

We have recently released a new client portal: CleanTelligent Community.  CleanTelligent Community serves two functions.  1) Our customers can be involved in the development of CleanTelligent: suggesting new features, offering feedback as ideas are implemented, and pledging funds towards the functionality that will benefit them most. 2) It is a forum where customers can have discussions with each other about practices, devices or hardware that they have found to be useful.

We have a tradition of involving customers in the customization of CleanTelligent, and we feel that by opening up our development process even more we will be able to make the program better for everyone.

Let CleanTelligent Work for You

As a representative of CleanTelligent, I have consulted with a lot of different people and companies about how to use the software. In my experience, the most important thing you can do to use CleanTelligent is to make IT work for YOU. As with any software, it can be tempting to try and learn exactly how the program works and then try to adjust your policies/procedures to accommodate the system. However, if you know what you're doing, then it's easy for CleanTelligent to accommodate you.

Have A Clear Understanding of How Your Company is Structured

The first thing you should know about CleanTelligent is that the entire app is permission based. This means that cleaners, managers, and quality control managers are only able to view or do inspections for the locations for which they are responsible. This creates accountability and allows you to ensure that your reports are accurate and work orders are taken care of. Before using CleanTelligent, try to think about the organization of your company. Who is in charge of what? How should my company be organized to assure that the right people are receiving messages from clients?
